EQUIPMENTS USED & PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES

For all of my recordings I always tried to make sure that the room I used were quiet and that there was little to no background noise that would interfere with the audio quality such as wind noise and unwanted dialogue. When recording, I ensured that the microphone wasn't too far or too close from the people who took part in the recordings. Whenever possible I tried to have books and other objects around to minimise the echo in the recordings. I also found that getting recordings independently was more efficient than doing recordings as a group because it meant that I could go and get more recordings done faster and easier. When trying to find background music I tried to search for ones that weren't too overpowering for the listeners, minimal beats but nothing too slow either. To record for my podcast I originally used a zoom mic -which would then be connected to the Mac in order for me to gather the files. However, since I couldn't always use the zoom mic's whenever I needed them, I chose to then use my IPhone for recording instead - which was useful for when getting Vox pops and interviews because I didn't have to book the zoom mic and since I could wirelessly export the audio recordings to my dropbox and download straight away.
