10 Essential To A Good Review (Podcast)

10 ESSENTIALS TO A GOOD REVIEW (PODCAST) Have an easy to follow structure- nothing too complicated, just stick to talking about one topic at a time (or at least try your best at doing so). Also make sure that what you talk about actually relates to the topic. Make sure that what you're saying is easy to understand and prevent yourself from mumbling words when recording. Avoid talking too fast or talking too slow. Try to maintain a steady pace in your delivery.  Research the product that you're reviewing and ensure that you have sufficient knowledge about it so you can form a valid opinion.   Show confidence in what you are saying and the content that you're releasing. Little to no distractions when recording your audio, eg. background noise. Prevent yourself and the people you're interviewing from interrupting each other, having people talk on top of each other constantly will be annoying and hard to understand.  Appropriate use of sound effects. Make...

10 Facts About The Titanic

10 FACTS ABOUT THE TITANIC 1. Gloria Stuart (who played the Old Rose) was the only person who worked on the film who was actually living in 1912 when the Titanic sunk. https://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/things-you-didnt-know-about-titanic?utm_term=.mdw0J2Z7K#.rbnZJDYkO 2.  Kate Winslet came down with pneumonia from filming the water scenes due to her refusing to wear a wetsuit under her period costume. In fact when she was searching for Jack on board the ailing ship, her gasp at splashing into it was genuine.  http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/movies/20-years-on-what-you-never-knew-about-titanic/news-story/f329881bf5820f99f4e0617c02b81f55  3. The scene in the movie depicting the moment of the iceberg warning and the ships' collision with it lasted 37 seconds, which is the same amount of time that passed between the real warning and the collision. Furthermore, Cameron edited that specific part of the film to make sure that it stuck to the same time that the real...

Ideas Sheet

IDEAS SHEET What interview questions will you include? What do you think about the ending (involving Jack's death)? Would you say that the movie respected the real historical events of Titanic? What did you like and dislike about the movie? *If a modern adaptation of the movie was made, how do you think they should improve on it based on the original movie (what should they get rid off and what should they add)? Small info about the synopsis of the story and the awards and recognition that it garnered.  The introduce first few questions, vox pop. Then talk about own interpretation of the movie and then transition into the ending about Jack's death. Add clip from MythBusters talking about their test. Then talk about own opinion on the topic. Transition to the last few lessons and then finish off with last remarks. Outro about the Titanic being iconic and still recogn...

TIPS: Recording Vox Pops

TIPS: RECORDING VOX POPS Smile and look approachable towards people you want to interview. Learn to take rejection, don't take it personally if they don't want to get interviewed. Listen to what people say, they might tell you answers you won't find anywhere else. Ask open questions that can lead to more interesting answers. Speak to a variety of people so you can have different perspectives. HOW I IMPROVED MY VOX POPS For my second attempt at taking vox pops, I tried to choose locations which were quieter than the ones I had chosen the first time around; instead of going in the hallway I went into the library which had a lot of books that helped to reduce the echo in my audio recordings.  Another way I improved was when I made the choice to go solo/ work with a partner rather than working in groups of five because doing so meant that I was able to get more interviews covered in comparison to my first attempts when I had to wait for the rest of the gro...

Titanic : Class Reviews

TITANIC : CLASS REVIEWS CLASS REVIEWS ON THE MOVIE RENE' "Good re-enacting of the accident" JASON "Titanic was a great film. Stunning actors and storyline" KIERAN "Great film. Enjoyed it" CAI "Good film" LUKE "Good special effects. The soundtrack makes the film" NOAH "It's a bit long, to be honest" MARILE'NE "I thought it was a good movie, as it was based on a true story" ETHAN "Most of it was good, it just overstays its welcome". WHAT I LIKED/DISLIKED ABOUT IT The thing I liked the most from the movie was that it was able to capture the intensity of that historical event all whilst fitting in the excellent romantic chemistry between Jack (Leonardo Dicaprio and Rose (Kate Winslett), despite the fact that their romance could've been less of a focus than the actual sinking of the SS Titanic. One of the things that I disliked about the mo...
